Preparations at Apton Hall
For your preparations the honeymoon suite is a grade II listed building. You’ll have two floors with amenities. It’s right in the heart of the venue to for convenience but with the privacy you’ll need. There’s also now a brand new preparation area as of Summer 2024 at the back of the venue.

Ceremonies at Apton Hall
Guests will arrive at the bar area and may mingle inside or outside in the courtyard and outdoor ceremony area. Leading off from the bars through double doors is the Pond garden with a protective fence and great views over the countryside.

Indoor ceremony converted Stables at Apton Hall
The original stables have now been restored into the indoor ceremony room. With good light and red brick walls your wedding photos will look great. Comfortably sitting 60+ guests. Wedding photography looks great here.
The outdoor ceremony area in the central courtyard is spacious for large weddings and has the centerpiece gazebo to decorate to your style. Alternatively, the new barn can accommodate 180 guests for large weddings. For barn style weddings in Essex it really is a lovely location.

After the wedding ceremony guests will mingle at the bar, the courtyard or in the pond garden, or socialising in the courtyard at Apton Hall. On a nice day, guests will probably be in the pond garden with garden games and seating. The pond itself is fenced off too to keep those little ones safe. A log burner is on hand for chilly days.

The group shots can be taken in the convenience of the pond garden where everyone will probably be gathering. You can of course choose the courtyard or even the larger grounds outside. There'll usually be some lawn games too that will keep your guests entertained.
Couple Photos at Apton Hall
When it's time to capture some lovely couple photos you can start at the pond garden and then go through the large gates to the grounds. Here you’ll find fantastic views and a smaller area with fruit trees. The courtyard area can be used to to include some of the character of the converted venue. Open fields at the back can be ventured into in good weather and depending on the season you’ll see crops, flowers or a mixture in the background. This will also be a perfect location for sunset couple photos to.

The New Barn can cater for large and small weddings with bi-fold doors doubling the space where required.
With lots of light and subtle brickwork and beams, the new barn can be decorated to your taste and wedding theme.
After your meal, it’s time to socialise with friends and family in the courtyard or pond garden.
The Wedding Party at Apton Hall
The evening dancing will be in the cowshed with air conditioning. Quite a large room and they mention that it accommodates up to 200. Integrated is the main bar which stays open for drinks throughout the evening.
We really enjoyed our time here as overall it is a fab venue with no major flaws at all.
