Wedding Venue
The Lawn is a Georgian country manor house close in Rochford, Essex. Your wedding will be exclusive here taking advantage of the venue and 3 acres of beautiful grounds.
Preparations at The Lawn
The Lawn has two rooms for the preparations, one is a super large bridal preparation room with a 60-foot balcony overlooking the lawn and fountain area. Directly outside is the landing overlooking the inside ceremony area, accessible via the sweeping staircase.

The Ceremony at The Lawn
You have the Grand Hall for indoor ceremonies with large windows at the front and overlooked by the balcony above. You may choose an outdoor setting and the gazebo is proving very popular in the summertime.

The Drinks reception
There is a large lawn area with a fountain and a long terrace complete with a seating area for guests to mingle and socialise. The layout is well suited to keep the guests together but flows nicely inside. Double doors from the terrace lead to the blue room inside with sofas and a homely feel. This in turn opens up to the dance floor area and Grand hall that will be transformed after an indoor ceremony with tables and chairs for the afternoon and evening.

The Group Photographs at The Lawn
The group photos can be taken on the lawn area with the fountain or manor as a background. When the sun is shining I prefer the shade of the trees to the left which also has beautiful scenery. Confetti shots are taken on the steps to the left of the fountain and a line up of guests works really well here.
Bride & Groom Photos at The Lawn
Off to the side, there are fields and mature trees including a couple of willows. A fence surrounds the grounds but walking through the gate allows a few more special portraits with stunning views of the fields or manor. The fence itself is photogenic with the couple looking out at the views. The side of the manor also has steps where the couple can be photographed with the manor house in the background.
Wedding Breakfast
They don’t come any better than the Orangery for your wedding breakfast. This stunning extension is lit by the glass ceiling and opens up onto the terrace area. Large weddings of around 130 can be accommodated and of course it has air conditioning too.
The Evening Reception at The Lawn
The dance floor is situated in the front corner and overlooked by the guests at their tables in the Grand hall from one side and leading to the comfortable blue room from the other side. The layout works really well, keeping the guests together whether they are dancing, eating the buffet at their tables, or relaxing and socialising in the blue room.
Accommodation
With no onsite accommodation, the nearest hotel is the Holiday Inn around a 6-minute drive. Check with the venue as they can arrange discounts for you if you stay there.
