The Rochford Hotel Wedding Venue

The Rochford Hotel caters for small and medium size weddings with a large ceremony area and intimate gardens that are well looked after. I’ve always enjoyed photographing at the Rochford Hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful and all the areas are well designed with a good lay out.

The Grounds

The grounds at The Rochford hotel are quite small but ideal for wedding photography with plenty of greenery, trees and shrubs. They have a little gazebo and even a small stream and pond. The grounds have always been well maintained and even when a little rain has been falling the lawn areas do not get soggy or muddy.

The Preparations at The Rochford Hotel

You have the option to get ready at The Rochford hotel, a good idea especially if you have the ceremony there and not at a church.

The Ceremony at The Rochford Hotel

The large ceremony area is draped and decorated beautifully for their weddings. It’s roomy so allows good access for photography and film without getting too close to the couple.

The Drinks reception

With good weather, the happy couple will walk out onto the patio area and enjoy drinks and canopies by the lawn area with the guests keen to congratulate them and mingle. There’s plenty of space inside for those wetter days and winter weddings. The Dance floor leads into the bar which then leads into a seating area with patio doors to the grounds. Everything flows nicely and you’re never too far from the action.

The Group Photographs at The Rochford Hotel

With lots of trees and shrubs in the background, there’s a fair amount of choice for the groups. There’s a large tree in the middle of the lawn too, useful for shade if there’s bright sunshine. If the weather isn’t playing ball there’s a flower wall on the dancefloor area to grab some groups indoors too.

The Special Couple Photos at The Rochford Hotel

Some candids of the happy couple walking hand in hand is always a good start. There is a little pond and stream for some variety as well as a small enclosed seat at the back of the grounds. The large central tree offers some shade and a different perspective too.

The sunset won’t be visible at the Rochford Hotel but you can still get some nice golden hour evening shots and if the sky lights up with colour this will be visible from the grounds as a great backdrop.

Wedding Breakfast

For twilight weddings there’s normally a buffet in the dedicated seated area but for a full wedding breakfast then the ceremony room is turned around and can cater for 60 to 70 or so guests.

The Evening Reception In The Rochford Hotel

The cake cutting is usually around 7:30pm in the dancefloor area just in front of the flower wall. The staff will wisk this away promptly for the first dance to commence. There is seating for around 30 or so people with a raised floor up a couple of steps. Other guests will be at the bar, in the conservatory area or socialising on the patio and lawns in the summer.

Accommodation

The Rochford hotel has 20 guest rooms with en-suite so guests who don’t fancy the journey home or have travelled far can enjoy the night and crash out late into the night.
