Getting Married at The Warren Estate in Essex
As a wedding photographer, The Warren Estate offers a stunning barn setting with a contemporary but traditional character and should be on your list for a barn wedding. The Rose Barn is a beautifully romantic venue that offers indoor and outdoor ceremonies, exclusive use and bespoke wedding packages.
The Warren Estate has an experienced and professional team that can help you plan your special day. In my experience, they are very well-organised and professional. They offer outside and inside ceremony locations, luxury lodge accommodation, a limestone terrace and the barn with a piano bar and gardens which are exclusively yours.
The Preparations
Usually the bride will have the Rose suite available, a large well decorated room providing all the facilities you’ll need. Of course you can stay there the night too. For the boys or second party there’s a row of rooms at the back for them, other guests such as parents will have also enjoy these rooms too.
The Ceremony at the Warren estate
The Oak Pavilion is surrounded by lawns with neat borders and views of the countryside, it’s a lovely location for outdoor ceremonies in good weather. Of course, they offer indoor ceremonies too in the main Rose barn area, after which it is transformed into the breakfast meal and then the evening entertainment.
The Reception Drinks
The Rose Barn incorporates a piano bar that leads out to the patio area. Perfect on a nice day for the reception drinks. From the terrace, you overlook the outdoor ceremony area. You’ll have views of the grounds and golf course with natural landscapes that provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos.
The Group Photos
Right adjacent to the outdoor ceremony can be used with the venue backdrop, or facing the other way you have the grounds with mature trees as the backdrop. If the sun is harsh though I like to cross the path to the trees for a nice shaded area.

The Couple Portraits
I like to start off at the shaded tree area for the couple with a variety of shots. Later in the day though a buggy ride to the pond is amazing for some nice portraits
The Meal & Speeches
A Large room with plenty of space the couple will make their entrance down the stairs. I’ll often recommend a table dash where we hop from table to table to take a picture with the guests who I’ll have happily waving their napkins.
The Evening
Let the dancing begin. The meal tables are rearranged and the party starts with the cutting of the cake. Beautiful oak beams decorated with LED lights make the room look special.
The Accommodation
The Warren Estate have eight rooms including the lovely Bridal Suite called the Rose Suite, which you can have exclusively on your wedding night.
Also there are luxury lodges on the estate so friends and family can book a short stay if they like.
Then there is the Warren House Retreat for a short wedding break. The retreat has its own grounds within the estate Estate.
